By the time Filiz Sevil began her teaching career in physical education in 1996, her passion for volleyball had taken her to many countries as she played on the Turkish Junior National Volleyball Team and other clubs and teams. She holds a BA in Physical Education and Sports from Middle East Technical University, Ankara, Turkey and an MS in Sports Management from City University of New York, Brooklyn College, NY. She has worked at schools in Turkey and in New York and has been a member of the Dwight NY faculty since 2002. In addition to completing extensive IB training, she is a is currently training to become an IB site evaluator. Ms. Ozak is from Turkey and speaks Turkish and English.
Julie Ouzilleau has been a French teacher and international educator since obtaining teaching degrees from the University of Sheffield, England and Stendhal University, Grenoble, France. Her career has included schools in England, USA and Germany, and has spanned all ages of students, from KG2 to IB Diploma Programme students and for the last three years has also been an IB DP French examiner. Ms. Ouzilleau is native of France and speaks French, English and Spanish.
Katrina Clark has spent the last 12 years working as a teacher of Performing Arts and as a professional in the industry. She has worked on feature films, in theatre, as a choreographer, a singer and even opened a small performing arts school in New Zealand that offered programming for children to adults. Katrina holds a BA in Employment Relations and Media Studies from University of Auckland, New Zealand, as well as a Theatre Teaching Diploma from International Dance Teachers Association, London, England. Most recently, she worked at Victoria International School of Sharjah. Mrs. Clark is a native of New Zealand and speaks English.
Rajakrishnan Kalaichelvan was born into an artistic family and found his own calling for art through the mediums of painting, sculpture, photography, drawing and new media. He holds a BFA and MFA in Sculpture from Madras University, Chennai, India. Since beginning his career in teaching in 2008, he has taught at primary and secondary schools throughout India. Most recently, he taught at Step-by-Step School in Noida (Delhi NCR), India. In addition to teaching, Mr. Kalaichelvan continues to show his own work at exhibitions in major cities, including the “11th Oita Asian Sculpture Exhibition” in Oita, Japan. He is a native of India and speak English, Tamil, Hindi, Malayalam and a little French.
Doaa Salah has been teaching Arabic and Islamic Studies since completing her BA in Arabic Language and Islamic Sciences from Cairo University, Egypt in 2007. Most recently, she worked at Collegiate American School, Dubai. Ms. Ibrahim is a native of Egypt and speaks Arabic and English.
Olga Coelho is a Portuguese certified psychologist with more than 18 years of experience working with children and adolescents with special needs. She received her MA in Behaviour and Cognitive Therapies from Lusófona University of Humanities and Technologies in Lisbon, and is currently working on her PhD. thesis on personality traits. She has worked as an Autism specialist and Special Educational Consultant for several educational institutions, in Europe and UAE, offering practical support in the design and implementation of evidence based teaching strategies, working side-by-side with students in the areas which they are underperforming and lighting up their strengths. Ms. Coelho speaks English, Portuguese and Spanish.
Lee Clark’s journey as an educator began early, teaching beginner guitar lessons when he was a teenager and working as a Karate instructor while touring the world as a professional musician. In 2000, after receiving his BA in Music Education from University of Sunderland, England, he began his work as a music educator in schools around the world, including the UK, New Zealand, and the UAE. Most recently, he worked at Victoria International School of Sharjah. Mr. Clark is a native of England and speaks English.
Safeera Aslam is a trained librarian with over 10 years of experience in the UAE as well as several years of teaching experience in India. She holds an MA in Library and Information Science and a BA in Education, Home Science, and Library and Information Science. Most recently, she worked at Emirates International School, Dubai as the PYP Librarian. Ms. Aslam is from India and speaks English, Hindi, Malayalam and Arabic.
Motasem Alhourani has been an Arabic and Islamic teacher for 13 years, including six years working in IB schools. He holds a BA in Arabic Language and Literature and an MA in Linguistic Studies and Grammar from Mu’tah University in Jordan. He has also served as an IB DP examiner since 2014. Most recently, Mr. Alhourani worked at Emirates National School, Abu Dhabi. He is a native of Jordan and speaks Arabic and English.
