Lower School Teachers
Monique Anduze has worked as a primary years educator since 2005 in four countries - USA, Jamaica, Turkey and UAE. In addition to obtaining her degrees - BA in Political Science and Educational Studies from Emory University and MA in Teaching English as a Second Language from University of Delaware, she has also completed IB PYP training and spent seven years working in IB schools. Most recently, she worked at GEMS American Academy in Abu Dhabi, UAE. Ms. Anduze is from the USA and speaks English and conversational French.
Rhyan Davis has worked as a primary years educator in the USA and UAE since 2008. She is a proud graduate of two universities in Philadelphia, PA - BA in Criminal Justice from Temple University and an MA in Education from Saint Joseph’s University - and has also completed IB PYP training and spent two years working in an IB school. Most recently, she worked at Al Ghadeer KG in Al Ain, UAE. Ms. Davis is from the USA and speaks English and conversational Spanish.
Kerri Graham has worked as an international early childhood educator since 2008. In addition to obtaining a degree in Early Childhood and Early Primary Teaching from Otago University (Dunedin, New Zealand), she has pursued professional development in IB/PYP and the Reggio Emilia inspired approach to learning. Most recently, she worked at Qatar Academy, an IB school in Doha, Qatar. Prior to her time in Doha, Ms. Graham and her family lived in Abu Dhabi for several years. She is now excited to be returning to the UAE. Ms. Graham is originally from New Zealand and speaks English.
David Highcock has been teaching at the primary level since 2014 in Scotland and Qatar. He holds a Bsc Hons in Sport and Exercise Science and a Post Graduate Diploma in Primary Education from the University of Dundee and has been inspired as a practitioner by the P4C model (Philosophy for Children) and the ideals of Socratic questioning. Most recently, he worked at Newton British Academy, an international school in Doha, Qatar. David is from Scotland and speaks English.
Doaa Salah has been teaching Arabic and Islamic Studies since completing her BA in Arabic Language and Islamic Sciences from Cairo University, Egypt in 2007. Most recently, she worked at Collegiate American School, Dubai. Ms. Ibrahim is a native of Egypt and speaks Arabic and English.
Anneloes Hobbeling holds a BA in International Teacher Education for Primary Schools from Stenden University of Applied Sciences in Meppel, The Netherlands. While pursuing her degree, her student teaching experiences took her to schools in the Netherlands, Denmark, Kazachstan and the UK, including Dwight School London. Since completing her degree, she has worked at Sister Marie Laurence Primary School in Saint Martin, Caribbean. Ms. Hobbeling was very inspired by her time teaching at Dwight School London and is excited to rejoin the Dwight community with the launch of Dwight School Dubai. She is from the Netherlands and speaks Dutch, English and German.
Wezley Makin, who holds a BA in Education in Early Childhood and Primary from Canberra University, has worked as an early childhood educator since 2009 in Australia. Most recently, he was a teacher and team leader at the Guardian Early Learning Group in Canberra, Australia. Mr. Makin is originally from Australia and speaks English.
Alexandra Vergis has worked as an early childhood educator for over 9 years in Canada and the UAE. In addition to receiving a Bachelors in Education from York University, Toronto, Canada, she has focused her professional development in the Reggio Emilia inspired approach to learning and inquiry-based teaching. Most recently, she worked at Hamden Bin Zayed School in Abu Dhabi and had the opportunity to sit on the Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge Early Years Committee where she was a subject matter expert on Early Childhood Education. Ms. Vergis is originally from Toronto, Canada and speaks English and Greek.
Safeera Aslam is a trained librarian with over 10 years of experience in the UAE as well as several years of teaching experience in India. She holds an MA in Library and Information Science and a BA in Education, Home Science, and Library and Information Science. Most recently, she worked at Emirates International School, Dubai as the PYP Librarian. Ms. Aslam is from India and speaks English, Hindi, Malayalam and Arabic.
